Rowan Pope may be locked up but his dark exploits remain unrestrained in "Scandal" season 5. Word on the street is that when the series returns, the B-613 head honcho will come back with a new partner — Huck, whose future in the series still hangs in the balance.

Whether he lives or dies, Huck is going down a dark path. Should Quinn spare his life and opt not to pull the trigger, he will no longer be working with Olivia as a gladiator, which, media outlets believe, will toss him directly at Rowan's feet.

"That is definitely an interesting possibility," actor Guillermo Diaz, who plays the character, told TV Guide. "If [Olivia] finds out and he feels like there's nothing left for him there, I can see him turning to Rowan and embracing that dark side to him."

Meanwhile, Portia De Rossi being promoted to regular means that her character Elizabeth North will take on the responsibility of the Chief of Staff after Cyrus got sacked and Mellie got kicked out of the White House. Elizabeth, who was constantly put down by the two, sees her new job as the best revenge.

"She was tired of getting kicked around. She was sick of being Mellie's dog, someone who fetches whatever she wants. It was payback time for Lizzie Bear. She had enough, so she made a big bold power move," De Rossi, who was so excited about her regularization in "Scandal" season 5 told TV Line.

The character was responsible for the exposure of Mellie and Cyrus' involvement in the murder of grand jurors ordered by B-613. With the truth out in the open, the President threw them out and Lizzie Bear got what she wanted.

Meanwhile, Diaz believes that the White House will open its doors for Mellie once more.

"I believe that will all be resolved eventually when the president finds out she was forced into giving in those names. She had no idea giving those names meant killing a group of grand jurors," he shared. "If you paid attention, we have no idea what Liz told him. We didn't hear [that conversation]. She could've implicated Mellie more. I think that whole team is gonna come back and figure stuff out and it'll get resolved."

"Scandal" season 5 will premiere in fall.
