San Antonio Spurs NBA 2015 trade news, rumors: Diaw, Mills up for trade?

From the looks of it, the San Antonio Spurs are looking at everyone who may be traded just to land LaMarcus Aldridge.

After Tiago Splitter, two more names have been inserted into the trade frenzy mix. Boris Diaw and Patty Mills, both of whom have made a good account of themselves in many San Antonio Spurs battles are now said to be among the players who could be traded to make room for Aldridge.

The move apparently has something to do with the salary issues that the Spurs find themselves in. If Duncan and Ginobili returns, the Spurs will have to sacrifice some more assets. Both players are receiving midsize salaries.

Diaw is to get $21 million over three years while Mills is due $6.5 million for the next two seasons. Splitter is set to receive $16.7 million over the next two years.

So if you do the math, these three players' salaries could apparently help the Spurs make a serious go at Aldridge.

For his part, Aldridge seems to be interested in joining the Spurs where he is seen as the successor to the eventually retiring Tim Duncan. Aside from the Spurs, the Dallas Mavericks and the Cleveland Cavaliers are likewise expected in the Portland big man hence perhaps the reason why the Spurs are trying to make player movements as soon as possible.

With the Spurs failing to get past the first round of this year's NBA playoffs, many expect personnel changes to follow. Such was hinted by Danny Green last week.

Aside from Kawhi Leonard who is set to get a new max contract, it remains to be seen who will come and who will go. For now, the trio of Diaw, Mills and Splitter have been floating around though it remains to be seen who could be interested in picking these players up.
