"Samurai Shodown VI" will finally be released to the PlayStation 4 in North America tomorrow, Nov. 22, Sony Interactive Entertainment America (SIEA) has announced.

The game was first released in the arcades more than a decade ago —2005 to be exact — and then PlayStation 2 in 2006. By the year 2014, it reached the PlayStation 3 as a PS2 Classic in the PlayStation Network.

The description of "Samurai Shodown VI" reads: "The age: Tenmei. The venue: the world. The prize: glory. The curtain now rises on the samurai world's greatest spectacle. Let the games begin!"

"Samurai Shodown VI" will bring to PS4 the characters — all 41 of them — from the original and the six spirits from the arcade version of the beloved game.

There will also be new characters, including four EX fighters that players can unlock by joining battles and executing specific tasks. All in all, this should bump up the roster to 52 characters, who players can use to "battle and decide the victory" in the game.

Performing other specific conditions will net "Samurai Shodown VI" players with three additional spirits namely Devil, Beast, and Ritual.

For its move to the PS4, "Samurai Shodown VI" will get improved visuals now that it is playable on the current-generation console from Sony. Like all PS2 on PS4 titles, it should also get additional perks like Trophies.

SIEA did not provide details on the price of the fighting game, but GameSpot believes that it will be around $10 to $20, the range of the prices of other PS2 on PS4 titles.

"Samurai Shodown VI" is just part of the growing list of titles on the PS2 on PS4 program by Sony, which only began last year. Other games include "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City," "Max Payne" and "Destroy All Humans!" added only early this month.
