More details about the Samsung Galaxy S7 inundate the web, but this time, reports offer insight into when the flagship will be launched by the South Korea-based tech firm. And if this new report is any indication, the smartphone will be out early.
Leakster Evan Blass claims that US carrier AT&T is already testing two of the flagship's variants he said were the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge, which he believes puts the tech world closer to a first quarter of 2016 release of the much talked about smartphone.
A new report from SamMobile provides a narrower timeframe after the site was informed by its insiders from Samsung that the firm is already working on a firmware for the handset. Notably, Samsung is doing this a month early than they did on the Galaxy S6.
SamMobile reports that considering this schedule, it won't be impossible that South Korean tech giant will launch the Galaxy S7 at next year's Mobile World Congress in February, which is way early. Its predecessor was launched April.
This doesn't come as a surprise though as Samsung has already been suggesting that it will be changing up the tradition by putting out new mobile products way before its usual schedule. However, Forbes predicts that Samsung will be going for a far earlier release.
The site believes that Samsung is saving Mobile World Congress for another new handset on the way (there have been a lot of rumors and leaks on various Samsung smartphones) and that Samsung Galaxy S7 could show up during the Consumer Electronics Show, which will take place January.
It remains to be seen just how early the heavily rumored smartphone will be out and about but the Independent says that Samsung's goal in moving up the schedule is mostly to steal the thunder from the Apple iPhone 6s. If that is the case, January and February could both work.
