Samsung Galaxy S6 vs LG G4 specs compared: Future flagships face-off

The most talked about handsets in the Web are undoubtedly the ones that are still out of users' reach. Chitchat and rumors have been gracious to LG's and Samsung's future offerings. The LG G4 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 have hyped everyone enough that they cannot wait for their individual unveilings. The two, however, bring dilemma to consumers as they have to choose which one to buy. This early, the litany of specs that have sprung up from leaks and speculations should be enough to put these two in a showdown.

Both have promising designs users should look forward to. Word on the street is that LG is slashing a bit of the bezels to achieve a tasteful build in the G4. According to Tech Radar, only 0.7 mm of it will make it to the handset's perimeter. Samsung Galaxy S6, on the other hand, is rumored to spawn a variant dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy Edge. This means that the variant of the device will have its edges curved to the side. Metal will be used on the S6's body as opposed to Samsung's staple plastic casings.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumored to come in a 5-inch Super AMOLED display that can render an ultra sharp pixel density that goes up to 587 ppi. The LG G4 is said to go for a 5.3-inch True HD screen, which can generate a 554 ppi pixel density. Both handsets will reportedly sport a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. Even so, the Samsung flagship should come out on top, at least in this department.

It is too close to call when the matchup delves under the hood. The LG offering is set to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, the newest of Qualcomm's lineup. Samsung was initially rumored to load the same component to its S6. However, the South Korea-based company is ditching the processor for its own Exynos processor. This is reportedly due to the Snapdragon processor's overheating issues and also because Samsung is trying to stand on its own without needing help from the outside.

The LG G4 will offer 32 GB and 64 GB models along with a hefty 4 GB RAM. This makes the Galaxy S6 look tightfisted with only a 32 GB and 3 GB RAM to offer. In the camera department, Samsung will snag the win if the S6 comes out with a large 20.7-megapixel rear-facing shooter and if LG opts for 16-megapixel primary snapper. The handsets are bound to bring in a 5-megapixel selfie shooter.

The handsets are set to be introduced by its makers during the Mobile World Congress scheduled this March.
