Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus release date, specs news: Device to offer 5.5-inch display?

Samsung is on the brink of releasing something bigger and such will come in a bigger display for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus. To be exact, a 5.5-inch curved edge display.

The last two devices to come out are the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, both devices which offer a 5.1-inch display. The only difference is that the S6 Edge did come out with that curved display.

Overall, the S6 Plus will have dimensions of 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85 mm, pretty much bigger that will once again arouse the curious minds. Especially for the ones who were pretty impressed with curved edge technology that Samsung implemented with the S6 Edge, well here is your chance to see if it can produce an even better impression. The new leaks were brought out to the open by tipster @onleaks.

Aside from the bigger display, there will be other changes to watch out for as well.

One has to do with the processor which based on the leak could see the S6 Plus reverting to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.

It will be recalled that the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge made use of the Exynos CPU, and the switch seems to have become a problem. Hence, Samsung reverts to the 808 processor which could also mean that the S6 Plus will have a bump as far as pricing is concerned due to added cost.

Other notable changes seem to indicate that the S6 Plus will be coming with a standard microUSB port rather than a USB-C port.

With that spilled, when will the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus be officially shown in the market? A logical date to see the upcoming device could be this coming September 2015 at the Berlin IFA.

If so, could we see the next Samsung Galaxy Note as well?
