There have been plenty of rumors about the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus, a purported larger version of Samsung's bestselling flagship, the Galaxy S6 Edge. It is said to be the actual product behind the tech firm's Project Zero 2 (formerly Project Zen).
The latest reports about the alleged premium handset is that it will be called Samsung Galaxy S6 Note instead of Galaxy S6 Plus. The manufacturer has recently trademarked the name and media outlets believe Samsung will use it on its newest and largest S6 variant yet.
Along with the details on the name change is the news that the phablet will come with a jumbo-sized Quad HD screen measuring 5.7 inches that will generate an impressive 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. Previous rumors claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus will boast a 5.5-inch screen.
The same reports also assert that the so-called Galaxy S6 Note will draw its power from a 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. This selection, though, is open to discussion knowing that Samsung has already made it clear that it will only use in-house processors for its future devices.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus is also touted to have Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on board, the latest build of the current Google mobile OS. Sam Mobile, an ardent tipster of all things Samsung, claims that the handset will be out in the third quarter of the year, sometime from July to September, which is not too far away.
According to GSM Arena, it is highly likely that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus will be released soon, with the IFA in Berlin looking like a promising stage for its grand reveal, as it is said that the company also has plans of lifting the veil off the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which is rumored to come out in September.
With its purported release looming, Samsung fans can expect more details and news about the S6 Edge's bigger counterpart in the next fews weeks.
