Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone to be shown to 'select partners' at CES 2015, prototype for Edge variant currently in testing

Will the soon-to-be released Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge look exactly like the Galaxy Note Edge? Samsung Galaxy website

Samsung has sent a prototype version of a Galaxy S6 variant in India for testing, GSM Arena reported. Citing the Indian import data website Zauba as source, the site revealed that the Edge handset with model number SM-G925F has reached the country for assessment. The Edge alternate of the upcoming flagship, according to Business Insider, has both rims of its screen slanted. Its price tag was also determined— $710.

Sam Mobile recently tipped that the Samsung Galaxy S6, along with this variant, will be introduced to "select partners" during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas around Jan. 6 to 9. It seems that the device is not ready for showing to the public just yet.

The abovementioned dual-edged Galaxy S6 is just one of the alleged three models of the South Korea-based company's next-generation smartphone. An individual who claims to be a Samsung employee has dropped the info. IB Times said that the tech firm is on the move for all three of those, codenaming the production "Project Zero." According to Tech Radar, the Edge unit, which is expected to look like a Note 4 with an extra curve, will only be produced in limited quantity ranging to 10 million.

Until the purported release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 this week, fans rely on rumor mills for its specs package. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is said to come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with an impressive 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and incredibly sharp pixel density of 534 ppi.

The next Samsung offering is also rumored to house a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor under its hood along with a hefty 3 GB RAM and storage capacity of 32 GB, expandable to 128 GB with an SD card. Speculations say that a hulking 20-megapixel rear-facing shooter will be carved in its metal-framed body and that a 5-megapixel front camera will come along. Lastly, it will most likely run Android 5.0 Lollipop, which has reached tons of Android devices since its rollout.
