The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is finally coming to the U.S. and will be available from various carriers starting this Friday.
Latest reports state that AT&T will be the first carrier to offer the smartphone on Nov. 7. The network will offer the device for $945.99 off-contract, or $399.99 if the consumer signs a two-year commitment with the carrier. Buyers can also get the device through AT&T Next 18 for $39.42 per month, or AT&T Next 12 for $47.30 per month.
Sprint will offer the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge starting Nov. 14, and will sell the device for $35 for 24 months or $840 off-contract.
T-Mobile will also offer the Galaxy Note Edge starting Nov. 14 and buyers will have to pay their monthly installment of $36.25 for 24 months or $870 off-contract.
Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular have not commented yet on when they will offer the Samsung smartphone.
According to reports, Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will be a limited edition handset, which means that it will be available either in limited quantities or for a certain period of time. The availability of the device is different in each region and may follow the release path of the Samsung Galaxy Round.
First announced in September along with its sibling, the Galaxy Note 4, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge phablet packs a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD (1600 x 2560) resolution, a 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC and an Adreno 420 graphics chip paired with 3 GB of RAM. It also has a 16 MP back camera with optical image stabilization.
The handset comes with LTE, HSPA+, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, IR blaster, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. It has a heart rate monitor and a fingerprint sensor embedded into the Home button. It runs the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system with Samsung's TouchWiz, but is expected to be upgraded to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
