Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date expected some time mid-August

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is one of the few remaining flagship phones that are highly anticipated to be released. Many fans are looking forward to the said smartphone, especially in Europe, where the phone's predecessor did not get released in. It is rumored that a mid-August launch of the new phablet is expected.

Evan Blass, the famous leakster, posted on his @evleaks Twitter account the rumored release date. He said, "Samsung Galaxy Note 6 US release scheduled for week of August 15th."

With that information, fans asked Blass for any information on its specs. Several European followers also started asking about any related knowledge about its release in their continent, but no information is currently available.

The Galaxy Note 5 was released during the same month last year, on August 21 to be exact. If the rumored date proves to be true, the upcoming Note 6 will put it one month ahead of another anticipated phone, the iPhone 7, which is speculated to be unveiled by Apple come September.

Forbes mentioned that the rumored Note 6 will be directly challenging a phablet from Apple, the iPhone 7 Pro.

The still-unannounced phablet is speculated to be rocking a 5.8-inch screen, which is bigger than the iPhone 6 Plus's 5.5 inches. It is said to have a 4,000 mAh battery and 6GB RAM. It might also come with an IP68 certification, the highest protection against dust and liquid. The previously released Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are similarly certified. The usual Note slot-in stylus will be there as well.

It was previously believed that the highly anticipated Note 6 will come out with the latest Android OS, which is the Android N. But if it will be launched by August, there is a slim chance that the mobile operating system will make it on time. Android N was not officially released last week during the Google I/O event.

Samsung has not issued any official statement regarding the phone.
