Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Android 5.0 update released for US Cellular

It seems that many US carriers have found Android 5.0 Lollipop fit for some of their devices with reports that US Cellular is now rolling out the Android update for Galaxy Note 3 users.

US Cellular has released the Android 5.0 Lollipop with build number N900R4TYUCOC3, following other carriers who have released the Lollipop update.

To reiterate, Android 5.0 Lollipop will bring bug fixes and improvements to Android-based devices, including the new user interface with Material Design elements, new lock screen notifications and battery life performance improvements.

Other features to look forward to include Multiple User Support, Multi-Device Support, Custom Notifications and more.

US Cellular subscribers are expected to get the over-the-air update anytime soon hence it would be best to constantly check your phone for available updates. To check, simply go to your device's settings and select 'About Device' and then select software update.

Should the update already be available OTA, it would be wise to make sure that you have a stable WiFi connection and an ably powered device to ensure that you can download it properly. Take note that subscribers would need to have a Google account to get the update.

In the event that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is not yet available, subscribers can try the manual download method which can be done by using the Samsung Kies desktop software.

With this development, all major carriers in the US have now officially released the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Android 5.0 Lollipop has originally started to roll out as early as January for the Galaxy Note 3.

Despite claims that the Android OS comes with a ton of features, leave some room for new bugs that may rise. Keep an eye out as well for the battery life, with reports that the update has resulted in poor battery life with Android 5.0.
