Android 5.0 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy 5 Mini by Q2

Thus far, Samsung has rolled out Android 5.0 Lollipop updates for its high-end devices so the rest of its device lineup should be having theirs soon.

In fact, the Android update for its mid-range phones should start coming in soon as well. Though there was no definite date given, Samsung France announced through Twitter that the Android 5.0 Lollipop should be available come the second quarter of 2015 for the Samsung Galaxy 5 Mini.

With no actual date of arrival to rely on, it would perhaps be best to expect the Android update to be made available by June 30, 2015 at the latest.

Samsung Galaxy 5 Mini is a mid-range phone released in July of 2014 and is touted as a mid-range version of the highly popular Samsung Galaxy S5. It is a device that is considered by many as an alternative or Samsung's bet against the iPhone 5C from Apple.

Like in the case of other devices which have already received the Android 5.0 Lollipop, the upcoming OS update carries a lot of improvements and changes. That includes new lockscreen notifications and stability related enhancements.

But while the update does promise to address old issues, folks who plan to (or have) applied the Android 5.0 Lollipop patch are expected to keep a watchful eyes on possible problems that could arise. That includes connectivity and battery life issues to name a few.
