Ronda Rousey next fight rumors: Former champ is back in training

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's champion Ronda Rousey is back and she is preparing herself for that much awaited rematch against champion Holly Holm.

TMZ spotted Rousey back in the Glendale Fighting Club in California recently, training with Edmond Tarverdyan. The development should be a good sign and something that will douse all doubts that were previously up in the air on whether or not Rousey would ever return to the UFC again.

There were some who believed that Rousey was finished, following that devastating loss she suffered at the hands of Holm back in November 2015.

Holm shocked the world when she scored a second round knockout on Rousey, capped with a vicious kick to the head.

The finish shook up Rousey, who admitted that she was still feeling the effects of that kick. The deposed champion admitted that she had a hard time eating, with her mouth and teeth getting the worse of that stunning blow.

But now, it seems she is primed and ready to take on that rematch, something which would have happened at UFC 200 had the former champion not requested for time off due to conflicts in her Hollywood schedule.

UFC president Dana White never lost faith in Rousey and believes that she would return soon to get payback on Holm. Rousey herself said that she would return this year though there is no definite date on when that may take place.

For her part, Holm will be making her first title defense against Miesha Tate this March at UFC 197. Holm will need to fend off Tate to ensure that her rematch with Rousey remains on course.

Tate is someone whom Holm cannot take for granted, someone who has proven herself before. That includes previously being the only fighter to last more than a round with Rousey in two previous encounters.
