An all-new cinematic trailer for "Rise of the Tomb Raider" trailer has just landed, letting gamers have a first look at Lara Croft's brand new arctic exploits. The traveler goes subzero as she attempts to uncover the world's secrets in a new and exciting action-adventure title from Square Enix.
Not much about the game is shown in the dramatic trailer, which isn't a surprise, but what fans learn from the 1-minute and 45-second long clip is that the heroine's fire for discovery isn't and wouldn't be dowsed by the icy plains or the freezing weather.
In the trailer, Lara trudges the snow-blanketed precipice, clambers through the glacial alp, and eventually finds a cavern, scouts it as what a spelunker would do as her face slowly displays mounting and pounding grit to learn what lies beyond the ice-cold hollow.
"Rise of the Tomb Raider" takes Lara outside a tropical setting, which is something fresh and new. Square Enix hurls the adventurer into a whole new environment players would love to see her in, with whole new kinds of threats prowling but with the same hazard.
On the technical side of things, the cinematic trailer has gorgeous visuals, as one can expect. This aspect is one of the many reasons the franchise is a fan-favorite. The excellent storytelling and depiction of the heroine sway gamers more.
"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is a timed-exclusive to the Xbox One. There is no word whether or not Square Enix intends to bring Lara to other platforms. But if the box art, which has no "Only in Xbox" tagline as Bidness ETC noted, is anything to go by, then the title should be arriving to the PS4 and PC as well.
Square Enix is said to showcase more about "Rise of the Tomb Raider" in the approaching Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 convention. The title will be released during the holidays.
