Despite the lack of concrete information about "Red Dead Redemption 2," there are still reports saying that the long-awaited sequel is coming soon.
The launch of the game comes at a time when Sony and Microsoft are making a console transition as they prepare to introduce the Project Scorpio and the PlayStation 4 Pro.
According to reports, "Red Dead Redemption 2" might be one of the launch titles for the next-generation consoles, although the gap in the release date of the devices may pose a challenge.
The PS4 Pro is already set for release this November while Microsoft decided to wait a whole year and release the Xbox Project Scorpio by end of next year.
If "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have to wait for the latter, it might take a while to get here. However, the wait will be worth it considering the power of the Project Scorpio.
This means that the game can take advantage of the native 4K display that the new Xbox device will offer. Virtual Reality experience will also be possible.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" might take advantage to all of that, but fans might have to wait for a year to get a hold of the much-awaited sequel.
But if the game is ready, as reports claim it to be, it might settle on the Xbox One S instead. The device will not give the full 4K experience but will still make for an amazing console just like the PS4 Pro.
As for what "Red Dead Redemption 2" will actually be all about, it is expected that a new protagonist will be featured in the game.
There were rumors a few months back suggesting that lead character John Marston will be replaced by not one but two protagonists. However, this is yet to be corroborated.
Up to now, developer Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, who first hinted at the existence of "Red Dead Redemption 2," are mum about the sequel.
