As the wait for "Prison Break" season 5 continues, more information about the limited series emerges courtesy of the writers themselves.

They teased that there will be a new individual to watch out for in "Prison Break" season 5. "There is a new LGBT character named Sid. He's got an important role to play," the writers teased.

Nothing more was revealed by the writers after that, though. But it is known that the character will be played by Kunal Sharma, and it looks like he will be introduced in the premiere.

As announced before, Sid is an "artsy" tattoo artist who ends up in prison for his sexuality. He will be a prisoner in Yemen along with Michael (Wentworth Miller) in "Prison Break" season 5.

It looks like Sid is one of the characters that fans will meet in the series. It is unknown if he will be around for more episodes, though, as Sharma is only slated for an appearance in the first episode.

Sid was shown in the sneak peek for "Prison Break" season 5. He himself is relying on Michael to get them out of prison because, if he stays, he will either be there 20 years or have 20 minutes to live, depending on the kind of people who gets to him first.

In the preview, Sid questions Michael's plans of breaking out of prison after he asks him for a piece of gum in the midst of such serious discussion.

Michael promised that this piece of gum will "start a sequence of events that will finish on the other side of the world," and it looks like Sid will just have to trust him on that.

Joining Sharma in the "Prison Break" season 5 cast are Rick Yune, Mark Feuerstein, Augustus Prew, Marina Benedict, and Inbar Lavi.

"Prison Break" season 5 will premiere in spring 2017.
