We are always in defense mode every day. The devil will not stop for anything until you completely break apart. This is why God in His word reminds us to be strong and not give in to the works of the enemy. But sometimes, with everything that's going on, it's difficult to do that. If you need help or are struggling, here are great prayers to ask God for protection, especially when the devil is targeting your faith.
Prayer for Strength
Dear God,
We thank you for the Power of your Word and your Presence over our lives. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will prosper, for greater are You who is in us, than he who is in the world. We pray that you will cast down every threat and accusation, every abusive word and cruel attack hurled our way. We praise you that nothing is impossible with you, that You are loving and gracious, full of mercy and might. We trust in you alone, to rise up strong on our behalf. Thank you that you are our Defender and Strong Tower, our Refuge and our Strength. Thank you that you fight for us today, and in our weakness, you make us strong. Sometimes, the enemy can get the best of us, but don't feel down because with God, there is always the opportunity to get back up again. As long as you put all your trust in God, you can correct your mistakes and start anew. Continuously ask for strength so you can always overcome challenges and your weaknesses.
Prayer for Protection
Lord, I give my body to You. Let it be a living and holy sacrifice, the kind You will find acceptable. I know from Your Word that Satan cannot sift me like wheat or even lay a hand on me without Your permission. So place Your hedge around me so that my body – Your temple – can be preserved, pure, holy, and healthy for You. Block Satan's attempts to make me doubt that I am "fearfully and wonderfully made" and don't let me listen to his taunts to harm my body through neglect, contempt, addiction or abuse. I am Yours, Lord Jesus, and I want to glorify You in my body so keep me from Satan's attempts and the temptations in this world and in my flesh to make me impure, to dress immodestly, to make my body a showcase or advertisement for evil or self glorification. - Crosswalk
The devil will try to tempt you in every way possible. Cling on to God's words and remember what He does not want you to do. As long as you focus on God, you can overcome any temptation thrown at you.
Prayer to Fight
Righteous Father,
I know that we are all fighting an invisible enemy that, alone, we are absolutely no match for. These wicked spirits are in high places and are sometimes part of the rulers in our land. Great God, help them to do what You would have them do so that we might have a peaceable life, in order that others would hear the gospel. There is coming a time, Lord, when we might not have the chance to openly speak about Jesus Christ in public. I pray that those now living in darkness in our community, who are blinded by the god of this world, would have their eyes opened to receive the glorious gospel so that they might be saved. Let us fight on our knees Father, having in place the armor of our righteousness that protects us from the wicked enemies. This dark, invisible enemy and his demons hate those who are Yours Lord, so help us to prepare ahead of time to ward off the weapons of the enemy, and to stay in Your Word to see that the enemy will eventually be vanquished. You will need strength and guidance to fight every day of your life. Don't forget to pray to God and ask for strength to withstand evil and glorify God in the process. The enemy is dark and persistent. You won't even see it coming. Ask God for wisdom and weapons to fight the good fight.
While the Lord knows of our everyday struggles, He still wants to hear you pray to Him. He wants you to rely on Him, depend on Him for your needs. He wants to listen to whatever you say. So don't just think that because you're a believer, that you're already untouchable. Truth is, the closer you are to God, the more the devil will try to break your faith, so always pray for strength and protection.
