Captain Jack Sparrow's wild adventures have yet to come to an end. Disney has recently announced that the fifth installment of the epic adventure franchise titled "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" has started filming in Queensland, Australia. It is set to shoot exclusively in the said location, particularly in Village Roadshow Studios.
This time around, an extremely vindictive Captain Salazar is set to whip up an elaborate attempt to take down the cheeky wise-cracking trickster of the Caribbean — and basically all other pirates at sea — with a band of "deadly ghost pirates" fresh from the Devil's Triangle. Oscar winner Javier Bardem will be introduced as Captain Jack Sparrow's arch-rival seeking revenge for the murder of his brother which the cunning protagonist is responsible for.
Johnny Depp will be back for the fifth time and his well-loved character will be seen scouring the depths of the waters for the all-powerful Trident of Poseidon to bring the terrifying brigands after him back where they belong — in the grave. Joining the actor once again is Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush, who will play as the hardnosed pirate Barbossa. Kevin R. McNally will be back as Sparrow's long-time comrade Joshamee Gibbs, and Stephen Graham will be there as the sly, mandola-playing Machiavellian pirate Scrum.
The cast also includes Kaya Scodelario from "The Maze Runner," Golshifteh Farahani from "Exodus: Gods and Kings" and Brenton Thwaites from "Maleficent." Jeff Nathanson, responsible for the screenplay of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," wrote the script for the movie, which is also dubbed as "Pirates of the Carribean 5." Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning are directing.
The stellar crew are drawn out from select people behind blockbuster films like "American Sniper," "The Lord of the Rings," "The Hobbit," "Hunger Games," "Transformers" and many others.
"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is set to hit the silver screen on July 17, 2017.
