'Percy Jackson 3' release date update: Logan Lerman does not see third installment

The future is still unclear for everyone's favorite demigod. The "Percy Jackson" franchise is expected to get a third installment after the action that transpired in "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters." However, Logan Lerman, the actor who played the son of Poseidon in the first two films, is busy with some other movie projects that do not involve Greek gods, and the actor even purportedly plans to take a crack at snagging an Oscar in the process.

The young artist is set to focus on his forthcoming movie "The Wife," which stars Glenn Close. The veteran actress will portray the role of Joan Castleman, who decides to abandon her husband (to be played by Jonathan Pryce) on the night he is set to take the stage and claim his Nobel Prize for literature. Lerman will be the couple's distraught son David. Oscar-winner Frances McDormand and Christian Slater complete the stellar cast.

The movie will be an adaptation of Meg Wolitzer's novel of the same name. The director will be Bjorne Runge, and Jane Anderson will be responsible for the screenplay. Anonymous Content Founder Steve Golin will be the executive producer of the flick. Shooting will start this fall and the cast will be filled in the coming weeks. "The Wife" is scheduled to hit the big screen in 2016.

This only means that Lerman is far from paying a visit to Camp Half Blood.

If "The Wife" is not enough as a reason for the absence of "Percy Jackson 3," fans of the handsome fellow should take his word way back in March last year, when he said that a third installment for Rick Riordan's imagined world and adventures is simply not happening. Almost a year has passed, though, so changes and considerations regarding "Percy Jackson 3" might have transpired. Should it happen, it will be time for "Percy Jackson: Titan's Curse."

A super fan named Patrick is one among the huge fanbase who wishes to see a trilogy or at least a wrap-up of the first two "Percy Jackson" films. If it was his way, Patrick, who posted his own plotline for his loved franchise in Percy Jackson Movies website (the nest where all the love for the lightning thief amasses), he would send Percy to a boarding school to recruit students who will help him end the seemingly unending Gods and Titans warfare.

Despite the movie being a blur, the "Fury" actor does not forget to acknowledge how the novel-adapted movies gave a boost to his acting career. In fact, it is also thanks to Percy that Lerman met his current girlfriend, Alexandra Daddario, the actress who portrayed the role of Annabeth, Percy's love interest in the "Percy Jackson" movies.
