"Penny Dreadful" is taking it up a notch in its new season with the addition of a new villain. Season 2 will be one level higher in terms of creepiness, but it will surely be the beautiful kind.

Adding to the supernatural characters like Dorian Grey and Dracula, a witch is making her way to make the lives of the characters a difficult one. She will be the new threat, but on the contrary, the story will also be shown through her perspective. She might not be that evil after all.

"This season, we embrace witchcraft. I don't believe in villains and heroes. You think Evelyn is a villain, but she's more of an antagonist. She has a noble calling even though it runs counter to Sir Malcolm's. She might think she's on the side of the angels, even though she's on the side of the devils," series creator John Logan told Deadline.

Showtime has released the new and full trailer for season 2 and it looks awesome. Vanessa Ives, played by Eva Green, draws a lobster with blood. What is that about? The video caption did say, "When Lucifer fell, he did not fall alone."

Showtime president David Nevins affirmed the addition of a witch. He said "Season 1's antagonist was sort of an inhuman character. It'll be good to have a more human antagonist."

Logan also dropped another detail about season 2. In season 1, the heroes were the hunters. This season, they will be the hunted. Logan described it as a "foxhole mentality." This has a lot to do with the growth of Madame Kali's character. Even the trailer shows how bad she can get, just look at her bathing in blood.

The team behind "Penny Dreadful" knew exactly what to do to make Madame Kali look more evil. Logan revealed that he asked his set designer to go wild and it resulted to "one of the most frightening places."

Meanwhile, according to Comic Book Movie, Logan also said, "This season Vanessa and Ethan face new challenges and old enemies, and turn to each other for solace. Their intimacy grows as they are forced to confront their demons together."

"Penny Dreadful" season 2 is set to premiere on April 26.
