The 15-year-old daughter of The Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker has asked for prayers after his untimely death in a car crash on Saturday.

Meadow, Walker's daughter to ex-girlfriend Rebecca McBrain, has taken to her Facebook and Twitter pages to express her sorrow and love for her father.

Walker was a passenger in a Porsche being driven by his friend, believed to be Roger Rodas, during a charity event in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County, when the car crashed into a light pole and tree, and burst in flames.

Both Walker and Rodas were pronounced dead at the scene.

Meadow said on her Facebook page: "When I was little he taught me to walk, taught me to smile, and taught me to never give up. I love him even before I knew what love was. He was my hero. My REAL life hero! He will always be in my heart! It brings tears in my eyes as I write this. You're gone, but not forgotten! R.I.P Dad!"

Meadow grew up in Hawaii with her mother but moved to LA in 2011 to be closer to her father. It is understood that they were both at the charity event.

On her Twitter page, she has left adoring messages to him and expressions of thanks for the support she has received following his death:

"Thank you everyone for you're support. This is extremely devasting & only god knows what me & my family is going through, Thank you all again."

"Xoxox i will always love you daddy."

"My father wasnt just my father. he was my bestfriend, i was his princess. i am so heartbroken"

"Please continue to keep my family & i in your prayers" "i love you dad , always & forever"

His death has been greeted by shock from his Fast and the Furious co-stars.

Vin Diesel said: "Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace."

Ludacris, real name Christopher Bridges wrote: "Your humble spirit was felt from the start, wherever you blessed your presence you always left a mark. "We were like brothers & our birthdays are only 1 day apart, now You will forever hold a place in all of our hearts @paulwalker legacy will live on forever. R.I.P."

Dwayne Johnson, who plays bounty hunter Luke Hobbs, also paid tribute, saying: "All my strength, love & faith to the Walker family during this heartbreaking time. We find our strength.. in his light. Love you brother."

Walker was raised in a Mormon family and graduated from Village Christian High School before becoming an actor and making it big in his role as Brian O'Conner in the hit Fast and the Furious film series.
