Partnership to reduce cost of money transfers for churches

The World Evangelical Alliance had partnered with Givingwire.com to reduce the cost of international wire transfers for its members.

The WEA has church networks in 129 countries, many of which utilise wiring services to send money overseas.

The online service is powered by Western Union Business Solutions and offers WEA members a lower exchange rate and minimal fees.

In addition to easing the money wiring process, a donation is made to the WEA for each transaction made through Givingwire.

The new service comes at a time when churches and ministries are looking for ways to save money and cut unnecessary costs.

It means that WEA members no longer have to pay bank fees for each transaction and a foreign exchange cost.

“Here is an opportunity to save money and at the same time contribute to transforming ministry. What a ‘win’ for the Kingdom,” explained Dr Geoff Tunnicliffe, Secretary General of the WEA.

“I encourage all those in our global community who need to transfer funds internationally to use this service.”
