Fans have no idea how long they will have to wait for "Outlander" season 2. Starz is yet to provide a specific date to mark for the return of the drama series on air. Thankfully, the network has been quite active on social media, where a lot of its fans scavenge for spoilers.

Just recently, Starz treated fans with a first sneak peek of Paris, which will serve as the location for Jamie and Claire's new adventures. Paris is the second stop of the couple as they make an effort to change the course of history and erase the Jacobite's rising from ever happening.

The photo will be the first of more images and sneak peeks Starz will release on Twitter to help fans idle the way the hours for "Outlander" season 2. At some point, it is hoped the premiere date for the new season will be dropped as well.

The second run of the series will be based on Diana Gabaldon's second "Outlander" book titled "Dragonfly in Amber." It isn't promised that the season will completely follow the installment but one thing is for sure, Jamie and Claire's daughter Brianna makes her entrance here.

There's no news about who will play the role of the beautiful and ever so daring character. There have been speculations but executive producer Maril Davis took care of shutting them down. What Davis managed to reveal is that 10 out of this season's 13 episodes have already been filmed. The inclusion of Maeve Foley was also clarified by Davis. While she is on board, she won't be taking on a character role.

Apart from the drastic change in setting, another new thing to expect is that Gabaldon wrote one episode for "Outlander" season 2. In the freshman season, the author shied away from involving herself behind the scenes. However, fans will remember her making a cameo in a season 1 episode.

"Outlander" season 2 is expected to premiere around March or April next year.
