OnePlus Two release date at April 20 event

 Twitter/OnePlus

April 20 is a special day for OnePlus as the blooming tech firm is set to make a big announcement. The company shared an invitation via Twitter but it did not give a clue as to what the tech world would discover during the affair.

OnePlus said, "From here on out, anything could happen. #‎NeverSettle."

Vague as the message may be, the timing of the event says a lot.

OnePlus introduced its flagship OnePlus One in April last year. If the company has a pattern to follow, then a successor to the 5.5-inch handset may very well be on its way.

The hotly-anticipated OnePlus Two will not come out until the third quarter of this year, but media outlets are guessing that the Chinese manufacturer will give users a peek at the new flagship during the April 20 event, just like what it did with the OnePlus One.

To recall, the company announced in March 2014 that it was working on the OnePlus One, although it officially lifted the veil off the handset in April. It was not until June that users were able to purchase the device. This may just be what the firm is doing with the OnePlus Two.

The OnePlus Two is rumored to have the same screen size as its predecessor although it is expected to render a higher resolution and better and brighter display quality. It is also touted to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and a hefty 4 GB RAM.

It looks like it will run Android 5.0 Lollipop and will have dual SIM slots. In addition, a microSD slot may be onboard so users could expand the handset's internal storage. Lastly, users will enjoy using the OnePlus Two with a 3000 mAh battery backing it up.

The world will know tomorrow if OnePlus is ready to unveil the said handset.
