OnePlus Two release date with new OxygenOS by Q3?

Unless OnePlus makes some changes, the OnePlus two will most likely be out by the third quarter of the year. Also, similar to the OnePlus One, the phone manufacturer will most likely adapt the same invite-only strategy it had implemented previously which could signal that the OnePlus Two may likely be produced in lesser volumes.

As far as the operating system that the OnePlus Two will be running out, chances are that it will make use of the company's highly regarded Oxygen OS platform.

OnePlus One previously ran on the Cyanogen (CM) but everyone may have probably heard by now that the ties between OnePlus and Cyanogen have already been severed. After a rocky relationship and different in outlook, Cyanogen and OnePlus have parted ways.

Apparently this was one of the reasons why OnePlus went on to develop its own operating system, the OxygenOS. The said OS is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and has already been rolled out for use on OnePlus One devices. And with that said, OnePlus is not expected to release anymore devices running on CM, most especially the much awaited OnePlus Two.

While the release date and OS may have been covered, rumors about the specs of the OnePlus Two have already been teased as well.

Among the features that the OnePlus Two will carry include a 5.5-inch (2560x1440 resolution) display with power provided by a Snapdragon 810 SoC processor. That will further be aided by 4GB of RAM and a 3,300 mAh battery.

As far as the processor is concerned, there is a chance that it may not be the actual one in use. Calling to mind the heating issues brought about by the Snapdragon 810, the OnePlus Two could replace this with the Snapdragon 615 or some other second generation chip. All this is up for confirmation though.

With regards to pricing, the OnePlus Two could be priced somewhere in the $500 mark. The OnePlus One offered two variants, the 16GB and 64 GB variant priced at $299 and $349 respectively. It remains to be seen if the OnePlus Two will come out with the same variants too.
