Players who hate the Denuvo Digital Rights Management (DRM) will be delighted to hear that the upcoming "Nioh: Complete Edition" for PC will not be using the security measure.

Developer and publisher Koei Tecmo has opted not to use the DRM for the launch of the game's PC port for reason's they did not announce. This dispels the concerns of fans and PC gamers about the game eyeing Denuvo as its antipiracy measure. Apparently, Denuvo causes a lot of hassle and unnecessary obstacles to be able to play the game.

Fumihiko Yasuda, the game's director has confirmed that the game will not be using Denuvo on its PC release. In addition to that, the PC version of Nioh seems to be well ported as it will not come with a locked frame rate and will also allow players to customize most of the graphics options in-game to either favor performance or quality. Yasuda himself has also confirmed that resolution and image quality can be altered independently by the PC players.

The stigma against Denuvo has actually stemmed from its extensive use of anti-piracy security measures, which has annoyed a lot of PC owners. In particular, the company will have to phone the PC players' home just to check whether their copy is legal or that the owner did not pirate the game. In general, the DRM is just hated among the PC gaming community.

Despite the developers giving no reason as to why they did not use Denuvo, there are several reasons which can be assumed. The most prominent one is that Denuvo no longer works at the moment since major AAA gaming titles on the PC are getting "cracked" left and right on the first day of their release. This tarnished the reputation of Denuvo, as the DRM was supposed to stave off any cracking/piracy attempt for at least one month since the game's launch.

Players will now be able to purchase and enjoy "Nioh: Complete Edition" and all its downloadable contents (DLCs) once it arrives for the PC on Nov. 7.
