Nintendo NX release date, specs, rumors: price, 'Mario' launch title and 4K streaming feature leaked

New information about the Nintendo NX has come to light, this time from a Reddit user by the name FlapSnapple, who got the specifics from someone who works for a "very large retailer."

This insider, according to the Redditor, revealed that Nintendo highlights a certain feature of the next-generation console on a poster, which reads, "Interact with your game on the go."

Nintendo Life says that there were reports in the past that link Nintendo NX giving players the ability to play on the go rather than "interact," but this nonetheless suggests that the console will somehow be portable.

FlapSnapple also claimed that there is a "strong co-branding effort" in the marketing paraphernalia of Nintendo, pertaining to a "Super Mario" game being one of the purported four launch titles for the console.

In the specs department, the Redditor was told that the Nintendo NX will indeed use game cartridges and will offer 4K streaming. The gameplay of such resolution was not mentioned, though.

Instead, the Nintendo NX is believed to deliver 1080 pixel resolution running at 60 frames per second (fps). "I've heard unconfirmed rumblings of 900p for the infamous hybrid part of the device," the tipster added.

With regards to the release, Nintendo will reportedly send out demo units in stores by February, making the March 2017 launch more likely. The Nintendo NX will reportedly be priced at least $299.99, while a bundle, will be priced at $399.99.

FlapSnapple even provided details on the "white and blue" packaging, saying that it will be larger than that of the Nintendo Wii U, although it will be "relatively clean and simple" like the one for the last-generation console.

All this information is yet to be corroborated despite matching previous reports, so fans are advised to take this with a pinch of salt until Nintendo finally ends its radio silence.
