A bunch of new images from the upcoming sci-fi film "Terminator Genisys" made the rounds recently. The snaps were published by Empire Magazine, the cover of which was graced by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke.

One image showed a T-800 behind the wheels of a truck. Another showed Sarah Connor pointing a gun at someone not shown in the photo; and one image showed a younger version of her, distressed but safe in the arms of a younger T-800.

The last one showed Oscar winner J.K Simmons staring at the Guardian and obviously, it was a bit of a bolt from the blue. As of now, not much of the "Whiplash" actor's role is known other than his name in the film — Detective O'Brien.

It also looks like the police detective will be someone of help to the age-old Guardian Terminator. While there's no telling whether or not Simmons' character will be on the good side, what is sure is that he will be a "weary and alcoholic" man.

"Terminator Genisys" will mess with the fabric of time by sending two T-800 cyborgs in a big duel. Here is the official synopsis of the film:

"When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future..."

Schwarzenegger will reprise his role in the newest iteration of the iconic cyborg-filled franchise. He will be joined by Jai Courtney, who will play as Kyle Reese, along with Jason Clarke, John Connor in the film.

"Terminator: Genisys" will be out July 1. A new trailer for the movie should be released anytime soon.
