A funky steampunk-laden puzzle platformer is coming in the form of "Clockwork." It is the first title from Sydney-based studio Gamesoft and its trailer proves that the developer has indeed made a solid entrance into the gaming realm. The reveal trailer of the title showcases the 2D hand-drawn art as well as the game's time manipulation, which serves as its backbone.

The action in "Clockwork" happens in the mechanical city known as Watchtower. The now-decrepit metropolis was preyed upon by a plague that reduced almost all its life to rubble, wiping out majority of its populace. The city is a division of industrial slums and swanky skyscrapers. Although there are denizens who managed to escape the clutches of the disaster, these individuals will have to fight for survival by inhabiting metal walls and creating disease-proof metal bodies.

"Clockwork" follows the journey of a mechanical boy named Atto, who can duplicate himself, thanks to his companion Milli (who came out of his pocket watch one day). With this power, Atto can do multiple tasks proficiently and all at once, allowing him to efficiently explore more of what is left of the dilapidated locale. But there's more to the pair than just heroic responsibilities. The duo taking the lead in the game also brings the emotional elements to the game.

"Clockwork is a story about unlikely friends coming together to try and fix an imperfect world in a time-bending puzzle-platforming adventure story," the game's lead writer Daniel McMahon told IGN. "We want to ask players the question: What if you could go back in time, to before everything changed?"

"Clockwork" will touch down on the Xbox One, PS4, PC, Android and iOS platforms this year. The adventure platform game will also make an appearance during the Game Developers Conference 2015 scheduled on March 2 to 6 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.
