The big reveal of the newest entry to the popular racing video game series "Need for Speed" will happen tomorrow, May 21. The unveiling of the latest hotly-anticipated racer, developed by Ghost Games and distributed by Electronic Arts, will take place via a special YouTube channel dedicated to the game.
The announcement of the new "Need for Speed" game came via a Facebook photo post, which entices fans to subscribe to the YouTube channel in time for EA's revelation. The image has a washed out background, which, when enhanced, hints that the publisher is about to unveil an Underground installment.
Gamers recognize the background as that of "Need for Speed: Underground," which is the most sought-after installment in the franchise. It was also the most requested installment by fans after the "Need for Speed" Facebook page inquired them of what they want to see next. So if proven accurate, "Need for Speed" fans will be the happiest racer fans this year.
Of course, despite the wishful thinking, the inference has its weight and the best part is that gamers won't have to wait long before they learn of EA's newest trick up its sleeve, although it is not at all far-fetched that the rebirth of "Need for Speed: Underground" is at hand. Furthermore, it was last seen back in 2004 so a decade of waiting should be EA's driving force here as well.
Sweden-based game studio Ghost Games says that the new "Need for Speed" game will be "dramatically different" from its predecessors. Back in January, the game was "already looking spectacular." What the developer meant with this will be revealed tomorrow.
Gamers can subscribe here to get ready for the exciting event, which will serve as the fans' "first look at the return of NFS."
The new "Need for Speed" game is slated for release between October and December this year.
