New ISIS video threatens New York City terror attack

An ISIS terrorist is seen in one of the group's videos threatening an attack on New York City.

ISIS has released a new video threatening a terror attack on New York City. The threat comes less than a week after hundreds were killed and injured in an ISIS attack on Paris, and just days after the Islamist group released a threat on Washington D.C.

In the new video, famous Manhattan streets are shown, including Times Square and Herald Square, as well as other well-known images of New York such as the city's yellow taxis.

Between the clips of New York, there are flashes of supposed suicide bombers preparing for the attack. At the climax, one terrorist holds a grenade and pulls the trigger before the video cuts out to black.

The final clip of the video then appears showing French President Francois Hollande addressing his nation after last Friday's terror attack. In the excerpt Hollande comments "It's horrible."

After that, words flash up on the screen including: "And what's coming next will be far worse."

J. Peter Donald, NYPD spokesman, has responded to the video, saying: "We are aware of the newly-released ISIS video that mentions Times Square. While some of the video footage is not new, the video reaffirms the message that New York City remains a top terrorist target."

He added, "While there is no current or specific threat to the City at this time, we will remain at a heightened state of vigilance and will continue to work with the FBI, the Joint Terrorism Task Force and the entire intelligence community to keep the City of New York safe."
