'Legend of Zelda': Netflix to bring live-action series

One of the popular Nintendo adventure video games of yesteryears will soon be seen once more after Netflix announced plans of bringing Link to star in his own live-action TV series.

The company is in the early stages of production where Link will be tasked to rescue Princess Zelda in the fantasy world known to gamers as Hyrule. Sources reveal that the fantasy RPG game will be somehow similar to Game of Thrones although on a light-hearted and kid-friendly series.

For those who are unfamiliar with Legend of Zelda, the game first came out as a fantasy and role playing game back in the 1980s. The game has since been re-developed to fit various game consoles from Nintendo and now it looks like those adventures will be brought to life with the planned live-action TV series.

Seeing Link and the Legend of Zelda hit the small screen is nothing new considering that it had made some appearances before with the Super Mario Bros show. Short episodes which unfortunately did not prosper were shown.

Now however, the TV series brings back Link in the flesh in a world that is expectedly filled with magic and swords as well as adversaries commanded by master villain Ganon.

Netflix and Nintendo are working closely on the planned project although they are still on the lookout for a potential writer to work on the series.

With that said, unless a writer is hired to take on the role of developing the stories for the planned episodes, the project remains up in the air for now. And while many feel (particularly the Legend of Zelda followers) that this plans could very well bomb out if nothing falls to place, everything remains to be seen on whether Netflix gains any success with this planned series.
