"NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 will be back with a new episode this week titled "Parallel Resistors," which will see the group take on the danger of a global scale.

The installment will follow the team as they investigate the attack on a graduate student who turns out to be putting together an electromagnetic weapon for the Navy.

A little digging by the team and they find themselves involved in international warfare in "NCIS: LA" season 8 episode 8, where the weapon is expected to be used in.

A sneak peek of the episode shows that the graduate student is only 12 years old and is one who is not very interested in talking directly to Sam (LL Cool J), Callen (Chris O'Donnell).

The "NCIS: LA" season 8 episode 8 will see the duo be aware of her brainpower leading Sam to tell her that she "knows a lot for a young girl" after she asked them (with her mother relaying the message) if they did a deep scan on the RAM analysis should there be missing files.

The young girl was homeschooled and got an early acceptance to California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and it looks like she will be a valuable asset in getting to the bottom of the situation.

Another sneak peek for "NCIS: LA" season 8 episode 8 shows Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) in hot pursuit of someone. He rode a motorcycle to catch up to her and even rode it down the stairs.

Whether it is the same young genius Sam and Callen talks to in another clip remains to be seen although Deeks will be shocked after seeing the face under the helmet. "I did not see that coming," he exclaimed in the promo.

It looks like Deeks, despite the problems with Kensi (Daniela Ruah) as she recovers from her spinal injury (which is getting the best of her right now), still manages to focus on the mission when on the field.

"NCIS: LA" season 8 episode 8, "Parallel Resistors," airs Sunday, Nov. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
