'NCIS LA' season 8 episode 5 spoilers: A familiar face puts life on the line to help uncover the mole

When "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8 returns with episode 5 titled "Ghost Gun," Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly) will also be back to help the team deal with the growing mole situation at the office.

Kolcheck has not been around for a while as the character was last seen in episode 18 of the previous season. But it looks like she will be very much involved in the search for the team's infiltrator.

"NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 5 will see Kolcheck team up with Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) for the mole investigation.

Teaming up with an old flame is not exactly the easiest for Callen, although it looks like the issue in this "NCIS: LA" season 8 is not the weird feeling brought about by the team-up, but the danger that Kolcheck will face as they go about the case.

As revealed before by showrunner Scott Gemmill to TV Guide, learning the identity of the mole will come with a price — and a hefty one at that.

"[They] will be given a little more time to resolve this, and they ultimately will by the end of the season—but with some catastrophic results," Gemmill teased.

It remains to be seen what the worrying outcome will be, but it looks like death could be involved. The teaser for "NCIS: LA" season 8 episode 5 showed Kolcheck held at gunpoint. It was not shown as to who it is that will corner her, but it appears that Callen will have a difficult time trying to rescue his ex-girlfriend.

Meanwhile, it looks like Kolcheck's life will not be the only one on the line in "NCIS: LA" season 8 episode 5. Kensi's (Daniela Ruah) condition appears to be worsening.

Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) was summoned to the hospital to see her. The trailer then cuts to him saying, "She needs help. I can't do it."

It is unknown what he is pertaining to, but Densi fans hope that it does not have to do with making a decision that can end Kensi's life.

"NCIS: LA" season 8 episode 5, "Ghost Gun," will air on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
