NBA Rumors: Brooks could find a new home with coach-less teams

Scott Brooks was recently fired by the Oklahoma City Thunder but the former NBA coach of the year is not expected to be jobless for long.

With teams like the Orlando Magic and the Denver Nuggets currently without a head coach, don't be surprised if they suddenly play with the idea of hiring Brooks to take over their ballclub.

If not on a head coaching capacity, Brooks may likely be contracted to take on an assistant coach capacity as well. Teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs or even the Philadelphia 76ers could make use of Brooks brilliance though it may depend as well on what Brooks brings to the table.

First off, Brooks could be a candidate to take over in Orlando or Chicago. Tom Thibodeau's fate hangs in the balance though and much of it depends on how far the Bulls would reach in the current NBA playoffs.

Just the same, it is no secret that the Bulls and Thibodeau are not in smooth terms. Thibodeau was already rumored to be on the way out after the current season though there is no word yet on who could potentially replace him.

With Brooks available, the Bulls could look at the former coach of the year and line him up among the candidates.

The Magic are of course in hot pursuit of Billy Donovan, the same man being linked to the Thunder to replace Brooks. In case the Magic fail to land Donovan, Brooks could be an option.

San Antonio is not expected to replace Gregg Popovich but that doesn't mean the defending NBA champs are not looking to beef up its roster of assistant coaches. Brooks could provide help to coach Pop just in case Brooks is not offered any head coaching gig.

The same case holds true for teams which had underachieved in the current NBA season. The Lakers, Sixers, and even the Celtics could be looking to hire Brooks as an assistant coach.

Given his credentials despite falling short this season with an injury-plagued season, don't be surprised if a team signs up Brooks soon.
