NBA news: Is Larry Sanders quitting basketball?

Many questioned his commitment while others believe that he is simply someone who is confused. Whatever the case may be, Milwaukee Buck center Larry Sanders feels that playing pro basketball is not for him despite holding a lucrative contract worth around $44 million spread for four years.

Sanders somehow voiced that through Twitter, something that his agent calls as inaccurate and calls it unsubstantiated. And we all know how the world reacts once you get social media involved. And considering that Sanders is someone that is followed by media and fans, such a tweet is bound to get out of hand.

Further adding fuel to the fire is the fact that Sanders has been inactive for the past six games. Originally said to be out due to an illness, Sanders' absences has now been reclassified as "personal reasons".

Sanders earned his rich contract after finishing seventh in the 2012-13 Defensive Player of the Year race. But a series of events seem to have shed a different side of Sanders. This included a bar fight in Milwaukee and again voicing out his appreciation for marijuana.

So if you hear about people terming Sanders as wasted talent, well, the Bucks center has been living up to the billing. And baring that he wants to explore options (other than basketball) is definitely not going to douse water over his controversial stature at the moment.

Will Sanders ever come to his senses and make a final decision? He has promised to return with vigor before and if ever he does return to play ball, the road ahead may not be easy.

Head coach Jason Kidd is certainly not pleased at his antics which come at a time when the Bucks could use a defensive player like him on the rotation. Will he play or will he retire? Whatever he decides, it may have to come fast to get his future on the right track.
