It all boils down to what Minnesota Timberwolves will be looking for – defense or a good low post game.
Such seems to be the case as the Timberwolves are weighing their options in what was initially seen a done issue.
When the T-Wolves landed the right to draft first in the coming 2015 NBA Draft, the word around was that Karl-Anthony Towns would most likely be their choice. All that is perhaps except for coach Flip Saunders who according to most sources reportedly prefers taking in Jahlil Okafor.
So which is which?
The sudden change in preference has become a bit surprising since it seems imminent that Towns would be the team's pick.
You can even add the fact that a rumor before bared that Okafor could ask the T-Wolves not to pick him since he has set his sights on being a Laker.
With that notion alone, would it be wise to take in Okafor at number one when in fact there are looming rumors that the player Saunders has in mind does not want to play for the T-Wolves? Assuming the T-Wolves move on to draft Okafor, would it not likely see the player seeking a trade to another team?
Speaking of trades, that could be an interesting option for the T-Wolves. The team already has Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and Zach LaVine up front so why add another big guy if you have a worthy frontline already?
New talent is good of course but if that player in mind is not keen on joining the team, might as well get the next best option which in this case would be Towns.
So will Saunders really push for Okafor?
Various critics believe that Towns will still be Minnesota's guy. He finished off his NCAA career on a bright note and is someone majority of the T-Wolves staff favors.
