NBA All-Star Game news: Kevin Hart, Pharrell Williams to headline event

February is almost upon us, which means that the National Basketball Association (NBA) will be holding its highly anticipated 2018 All-Star weekend in just a few weeks. Fortunately, for NBA fans, the league has already announced the names of the headliners that will make appearances as the main providers of entertainment before the event begins.

American comedian and actor Kevin Hart is one of the stars who will be taking the stage to open for the NBA All-Star Game, on Feb. 18. Along with Hart is producer and performer Pharrell Williams, who has accumulated 10 Grammy Awards, as well as N.E.R.D., for the opening performance. In addition to that, these same personalities will provide the formal introductions for all of the participants of the All-Star Game, with an expected amount of comic relief as well.

The All-Star Game will occur just before Hart embarks on his "Irresponsible" comedy stand-up tour, which will take the 38-year-old actor around the world to do what he does best. It is also important to mention that Hart is no stranger to the festivities of the NBA, as well as the All-Star Game, being that he has been named MVP for the All-Star Celebrity Game four times, and also had the opportunity of coaching one of these games in the past.

The artist who will have the responsibility of singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" is Fergie, while the alternative rock band, Barenaked Ladies, will be singing the Canadian national anthem -- both of which will come just before the ball is tipped off. The 42-year-old former Black Eyed Peas member released her solo album "Double Dutchess: Seeing Double" in September last year. The Barenaked Ladies will soon be celebrating their 30th anniversary as a group.

The annual special is set to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, and will begin at 8 p.m. EST on TNT.
