As always, the basketball video game by 2K Games, "NBA 2K18" has come out just before the start of the regular season of the National Basketball Association (NBA). With so much games under their belt, the developers have only gotten better at making the sports simulation look and feel much more realistic than its predecessors. This time is not so different, with more things to do in the game as well as some major tweaks that improve player experience.

According to Gamespot, the game looks so good that it may be difficult to tell the difference between the video game and a real life NBA broadcast. "NBA 2K 18" generates a great variety of in-game commentary from distinguished analysts of the game such as Ernie Johnson, the legendary Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny "The Jet" Smith. Their statements in game and even during the simulated halftime portion breathes life into each instance – just like watching television.

However, the game may not be very easy to pick up by casual gamers, as the game may require actual basketball smarts to get ahead. After all, it is a realistic basketball simulation game. One of the new features according to the New York Daily News that "NBA 2K18" has this time around is the presence of "all-time" teams, which are basically a compilation of the best individuals.

The "all time" teams serves as a fantasy option for basketball aficionados to test both their strength and their speculation on how their favorite franchise and/or dynasty stacks up between the others. The "My Player" mode has gotten a significant improvement as well. Players now will be able to create their own players and get pre-selected to their preferred team.

After the whole tryout process, players will be subjected to a fantasy open world with other created players which gives gamers the option to avail of some new threads and gain access to game modes outside of the career mode. This gives the game mode a better and more realistic approach, as opposed to the previous games sole focus on the court in the NBA setting, which can be considered a bit one dimensional.

At the end of the day, "NBA 2K18" is still the go-to video game for basketball fans, and it seems that it has no plans on stopping.
