It is only more than a week away when "Nashville" Season 3 returns with brand-new episodes. The lives of the characters continue on. For some, it gets better and for the others, it gets worse.

The official synopsis for Episode 16 has been released and it details what will happen in the lives of the major character.

"Rayna refuses to let Deacon wallow in his condition, but her support only frustrates him and pushes him away. Meanwhile, Avery, Gunnar and Scarlett are opening for Rascal Flatts on tour, but, when her past public meltdown haunts her on social media, Scarlett becomes wary of performing again," the synopsis states.

Further, Jeff and Layla are said to "blur the lines of business and pleasure" and this makes Layla very confused over the situation. As for Will and Kevin, the supposed writing partners hit a snag when Kevin said that he can't push through with writing anymore. Also, Sadie is in a bad spot and continues to be haunted by her ex-husband.

Episode 16 is going to be a tough episode to watch as each character appears to be in rough situations. But on a lighter note, "Nashville" fans should be pretty excited to know that Grammy winner Christina Aguilera has already inked a multi-episode deal with the show.

Aguilera isn't keeping anything a secret as she reveals the exciting acting gig on her Instagram account. In the first photo, Aguilera sits on a "Nashville" chair showcasing her full brunette locks. The photo is captioned "Look at all the hair. Having lots of fun on the set of #Nashville." This post proved that Aguilera was already working with the ABC series.

In the next photo, Aguilera revealed who her character is. The photo is captioned "Jade's been busy studying her lines." Aguilera is no stranger to acting, but her last big acting stint was back in 2010 in the movie "Burlesque."

"Nashville" Season 3 Episode 16 will air on April 1 on ABC.
