Naruto and Sasuke have fought their hearts out in the previous installment of "Naruto Shippuden." Episode 478 will now feature the result of the clash.

This week's episode is titled "The Unison Sign," which, as manga fans know, is also the title of chapter 699 of the manga that ultimately saw Naruto and Sasuke reconcile.

The promo for "Naruto Shippuden" episode 478 shows the two warriors on the verge of the afterlife, asking themselves if they are still alive.

In his vision, Naruto apologizes to Tsunade for failing her. He wanted to be the Hokage, but death seems to have caught up to him before he was able to do so.

But if the anime will follow the events of the source material, "Naruto Shippuden" episode 478 will see Naruto and Sasuke live to see another day.

They will wake up to Sakura tending to their wounds. Sasuke then made sure to apologize to her for the horrible things he did. Before long, the duo will free everyone from the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

"Naruto Shippuden" episode 478 is also expected to show the tailed beasts released from the Chibaku Tensei of Sasuke while Samui and Atsui attain freedom from the Benihisago.

Another exciting development in this "Naruto Shippuden" episode is that Kakashi succeeds Tsunade as the new Hokage, becoming the sixth one. He then pardons Sasuke for the crimes he committed.

That being said, "Naruto Shippuden" episode 478 will mark the departure of Sasuke from Konoha. This also ushers the anime to cover the stories after chapter 699 of the manga, which are set years after Naruto and Sasuke's epic fight.

It is expected that the following episodes will adapt the books centered on Kakashi, the Hidden Leaf, and Sasuke, although there is no concrete information as to what the installments beyond episode 478 will entail.

"Naruto Shippuden" episode 478, "The Unison Sign," will air on Thursday, Oct. 6, on TV Tokyo.
