The video game by Pathea Games, "My Time at Portia," will be made available for players as early access just a little after a month from now. The role-playing open-world sand box game is proving to be generating hype despite it not being a triple-A title, especially given its quirky aesthetic and vast variety of in-game activities.

According to reports, Panthea Games recently released a teaser trailer, with the announcement that it would be granting interested players early access to the "whimsical" title. "My Time at Portia" takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, where the people of the world try to rebuild their communities using readily available resources, featured in a third-person perspective.

After collecting a variety of resources, players will be able to use a readily available workshop that they have inherited from their "Pa" -- wherein they will be able to decide how to utilize them by creating new structures and home improvements. However, the game has an interactive side to it as well. Players will have the option to talk to non-playable characters (NPCs) to "spar" with them, or develop intimate relationships with them.

These NPCs will have their own characteristics and occupations that will surely make the world of Portia more interesting, giving a completely organic atmosphere to the in-game experience.

Develop-online describes the game as inspired by previous titles, such as "Harvest Moon" and "Animal Crossing," which are already considered to be classic sand-box video games. One of the most unique aspects of this upcoming indie video game is that players will be able to choose what kind of community member they can become for the world of Portia.

The early access for "My Time at Portia" is scheduled to be available by Jan. 23, 2018 for the PC, and will be available on consoles at a later date.
