Moto Droid Turbo specs and features leaked days before Oct. 28 release date

The countdown clock on Verizon's dedicated website Droid Does is down to its last hours, which means that the U.S. network carrier and Motorola will finally be revealing the alleged Moto Droid Turbo smartphone on Tuesday.

Now, new reports claim that the new Moto smartphone will be readily available in the market via Verizon just two days after its Tuesday launch.

Tipster @MotoFirmware posted leaked information on Twitter early Sunday morning, saying, "The Droid Turbo will launch on October 30th per our source. Also retail stores already have them in stock. Thank you for the catch."

The tip actually makes sense, especially since Verizon is known for releasing new product lines on Thursdays.

Earlier, the specs of the Moto Droid Turbo have been circulated online. The reports described the upcoming device as a power-packed smartphone that could compete with the current leading devices. It allegedly features a 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution display and runs using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with quad-core 2.65 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. It is said to have 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage, a super clear 20 MP primary rear-end camera, as well as a 2 MP secondary front-facing camera. Though the device will probably have the Android 4.4.4 KitKat once it is released, it could possibly be updated to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop soon.

However, gadget watchers are more excited about the device's superb battery specs, which is said to be 3900 mAh. It will also have a Qi wireless charging compatibility with support for the Turbo Charger that is exclusively designed by Motorola.

There are also leaked reports saying that the Moto Droid Turbo body is water-resistant, and can still be used even after 20 minutes of being soaked.

Aside from the release date and specs rumors, the price list for the Moto Droid Turbo had been leaked as well. According to reports, Verizon will offer the device with a two-year locked contract at $199, while the unlocked, contract-free device will be sold for $599.
