In a matter of days, the Moto Droid Turbo 2 and the Droid Maxx 2 will finally grace the tech world. As usual, details about the handsets are being kept tightly under wraps until their official outing in the United States through Verizon.
One thing that's sure though is that the carrier and Motorola are in the middle of intense preparation for the big day. This includes printing ads for the smartphones, which were leaked by Droid Life, thus previewing what look like heavy-duty Droids.
In the leaked ads, Droid Turbo 2, which was confirmed as the flagship, will sport what the pamphlet describes as "the world's first shatterproof screen." Verizon will accept up to $300 worth of trade-in for any handset customers bring, even those with whacked displays, just so many users can experience the new one.
Another nugget revealed in the pamphlets is that Motorola will offer Moto Maker to users who buy the 64-GB version of the Moto Droid Turbo 2. This should give them the power to choose which color and material (ballistic nylon or leather) their device will put on.
Meanwhile, Motorola touts that the Moto Droid Maxx 2 will last up to 48 hours. This seems to be the feature the Lenovo-owned company wants to highlight in the device. Sadly, no more details about it were provided.
What can also be picked up from the photos of the handsets on the pamphlets is a certain design change. From the looks of it, there will be no more capacitive buttons on the pair of upcoming smartphones, which is quite surprising considering that the previous iterations had such feature.
Verizon is set to launch the Moto Droid Turbo 2 and the Droid Maxx 2 on Oct. 27. Fans can expect that during the event, the telecom company as well as Motorola itself will shed light on how they pulled off the seemingly unbreakable screen of the former.
