'Mortal Kombat X' characters: Will a new warrior come from the Wild West?

Gamers are still in the dark when it comes to the remaining warriors in the roster of the newest and definitely the most blood-spattered installment of the fighting game franchise "Mortal Kombat." "Mortal Kombat X" has only 14 confirmed characters — 12 classic combatants and two new bloodthirsty warriors. In the absence of announcements and hints, rumor mills are doing all the chomping to learn more about the next possible fighter to battle in the arena.

Issue #4 of the "Mortal Kombat X" companion comic book showed an unfamiliar fighter standing next to "Mortal Kombat X" tenderfoots Kotal Kahn and D'Vorah. The brooding fighter looked like he came out of the Wild West as he was donning a wide-brimmed hat and a poncho caught in the wind.

The fighter, called Erron Black, is another newbie that is said to be one of the "deadliest characters" to ever grace the roster. Those are the words of the Aztec god warrior Kotal Kahn in the comic book. For gamers who have seen character trailers from NetherRealms, this description is pretty huge and definitely nerve-racking as all introduced warriors for "Mortal Kombat X" do not seem to have even the slightest drop of remorse in their system when they brutally slay opponents.

NetherRealms has promised to introduce another character next month. Whether or not it will be the gun slinger, there is no way of knowing just yet. There are reports claiming that Mileena, the sorcerer-summoned clone of Princes Kitana, will be the next warrior to be unveiled for "Mortal Kombat X."

Meanwhile, Spawn (comic book by Todd McFarlane) and Predator (from its namesake science fiction film that stars Arnold Schwarzenegger) are rumored to come to the game as add-ons via DLC packs.

It was also announced that "Mortal Kombat X" will not get a demo as producer Shaun Himmerick assured that "the final game is better for it."

"Mortal Kombat X" will arrive at the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.
