"Mortal Kombat X" is probably the hottest, most-awaited fighting title in the gaming realm today. The battleground is made to be indescribably gruesome and brutal, and warriors bloodthirsty and vicious beyond compare. However, all this good stuff will not be available to PS3 and Xbox 360 owners on the day they expect it to be.

Warner Bros. has confirmed to IGN that last-gen consoles will not be able to get the game next month. This came after an Amazon listing indicating the delay worried gamers.

"Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today confirmed that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Mortal Kombat X being developed by High Voltage Software will release this summer," the publisher confirmed in a statement. "The Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC versions will be available April 14."

NetherRealms has recently confirmed the participation of more classic and fan-favorite combatants in "Mortal Kombat X." In a Cage family-centric trailer, not only did the game studio reunite the unit with Sonya Blade, now fighting alongside Johnny and Cassie Cage, but it also secured a spot in the roster for the ever-sadistic fallen Elder God Shinnok and the blind swordsman Kenshi.

With the title being the most gruesome in the franchise, it is only appropriate to have someone who lives for such grisly moments. Warner Bros. announced that "Friday the 13th" masked killer Jason Voorhees will be one of four additional playable characters in the "Mortal Kombat X" season pass called the "Kombat Pack." Priced at £24.99, the pack will also include one more guest character and two other Klassic Mortal Kombat Kombatants.

Select content of the "Kombat Pack" such as the Samurai Pack, which includes skins for Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana, will be out on April 14, the same day "Mortal Kombat X" launches.
