Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date rumors: next iteration rumored to have spring 2017 launch

 Microsoft official website

The Redmon-based tech giant is speculated to be launching the Surface Pro 5 this coming October. It was earlier rumored to come out this month, but it may never happen. It is rumored that Microsoft is waiting for the next generation Intel Kaby Lake processors. Last year, the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book were announced in October as well.

The upcoming Surface Pro 5 is said to be packed to the brim. It will be equipped with the latest processor, which is faster, more efficient and contains more features such as native support for USB 3.1, 4K video playback support and improved 3D graphics support, Express reported.

A 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) display is also said to come with the unannounced tablet which offers a 3,840 pixel wide resolution. The same 12.3-inch screen size is expected to come along, still equipped with its Pixel Sense technology that offers high-contrast and low-glare effects.

Microsoft is also speculated to include a redesigned stylus that can be recharged when put on its holder or cradle, which is a great improvement from the existing one that still uses AAAA batteries.

For the Surface Pro 4, configurations are available. One is said to be for US$899 and comes with an Intel Core m3, 4GB RAM and 128GB storage space. Another is for US$1,800, with the faster Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, and 256GB space. Other configurations are available, including one with a Core i5.

Additionally, a special configuration is available for those wanting more RAM and more storage space. Starting with the Core i5, its RAM can be upgraded up 16GB and storage can reach up to 512GB. While the Core i7 can be loaded with up to 1TB SSD.

The community is expecting more news about the highly anticipated Surface Pro 5 in the coming months.
