Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date: Tech giant planning to release it next month?

The first laptop from Microsoft known as the Surface Book Microsoft

Microsoft is said to have made several improvements in its upcoming Surface Book 2. It is speculated that the improved "ultimate laptop" will be unveiled next month.

The company is speculated to be aiming for the next generation of Intel processors, the Kaby Lake, to be included in its rumored Surface Book 2. The seventh generation of i5 and i7 chips will be using the 14 nm FinFET process that can provide better power management, aside from being faster and containing more features.

Tech Radar reported that the upcoming 2-in-1 will be offering a USB 3.1 Type-C port and Thunderbolt 3 support, which is native for the Kaby Lake processor.

Several reports are mentioning that the second generation of the Surface book will apparently have an option for a 4K resolution, aside from the current 3000 x 2000 screen resolution offering a 267ppi pixel density. This is in relation to the upcoming processor, said to contain improved graphics architecture.

However, the next gen processor will only go into volume production during the last few months of 2016.

Surface Book fans are not too keen on its current hinge/locking mechanism, which Microsoft calls "muscle wire." The so-called "muscle wire" has become a nightmare for many users. It requires electricity to work and users are required to press a key before detaching the display screen or the tablet from its keyboard dock. Many users have been vocal about the issue and are looking forward to the changes.

Fans are also clamoring for a bigger battery capacity for the tablet section. Many are finding it useful for less than four hours, which is a very short period for many users.

Vine Report mentioned that the Redmond-based company is keeping an eye out on one of its biggest competitors, Apple, which is speculated to reveal its MacBook Pro 2016 during its Wordwide Developers Conference event that will happen next month.

Yibada mentioned that the rumored Surface Book 2 might have a retail price of around US$1,500 for the starting model, similar to its predecessor.
