The Miami Heat are starting to take shape and hopefully the team can rebound emphatically after a disappointing season.
After signing Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade, the team has added some missing elements which could give the team some added boost in the coming season.
The team has signed two players with the NBA veteran-minimum salary, Gerald Green and Ama're Stoudemire. The two are likely to take up key positions in the coming season's roster, both having proven to provide quality minutes on occasion.
In the case of Green, he has proven he can be explosive and should fare well in the wings. He should be someone reliable off the bench, render the needed energy once needed that the Heat at times sorely lack.
With Stoudemire, the Heat get a proven veteran and NBA All Star. Stoudemire played for the New York Knicks and then the Dallas Mavericks season though a cause for concern could be his troublesome knees.
A proven banger and scorer when the need arises, Stoudemire has been hampered by knee injuries through his career. One thing also working to the advantage of Stoudemire is that he lives in South Florida.
With the signing of Green and Stoudemire, Chris Andersen and Mario Chalmers are looking more to be left out soon. Both players have long been mentioned on the trading block as the Heat look to revamp their lineup sans some stars like Wade, Dragic and Chris Bosh.
The recent acquisitions also seems to indicate that the Heat are now turning to a more experience lineup compared to a young and upcoming crop last year. Though Stoudemire is a proven veteran who can blend in with Wade and Bosh, their durability comes into play.
Can they last an entire season injury-free? It may all depend on their length of time on the floor, the longer of which could prove to be risky.
