This year's The Game Awards will entail loads of surprises in the form of a huge showcase of spanking new titles and trailers. As per IDigital Times, there will be a whopping 18 games to debut during the show.

In the previous years, the awards ceremony that pays tribute to the most outstanding games and developers in the realm also became the most suitable venue for major game unveilings like Hello's 2015 release "No Man's Sky" and Bethesda's 2011 runaway success "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." Now, it will be the stage for the inauguration of "Metal Gear Online," Konami's multiplayer unit for the upcoming game release titled "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain."

While details have become very scarce when it comes to the latest "Metal Gear" in the making, The Game Awards's Geoff Keighley has already assured the full-blown revelation of the title during this year's show, which, by the way, will take place in Las Vegas on Dec. 5. Game Rant added that "Metal Gear" creator Hideo Kojima will personally open the curtains of the game.

The return of "Metal Gear Online" is besieged with expectations for much better and more competitive gameplay. Before the online version of "Metal Gear Solid" 3 and 4 was ceased two years ago, the game brought a number of thrilling modes to the table. As per Game Rant, there was team deathmatch, team capture and team stealth all playable in an awesome 16-player gung ho battle. While this was already seventh heaven for many, Game Rant and probably all "Metal Gear" gamers can now look forward to more epic multiplayer action, with the site noting how the "Metal Gear" installments has changed positively throughout the years.

Along with "Metal Gear Online," The Game Awards announced through their Twitter account that "No Man's Sky" will also be featured. IDigital Times expects that a gameplay footage may finally be released, after the game premiered its first-ever trailer in the same awards show last year.

The Game Awards will be streamed on Friday, 9 p.m. EST via Twitch, YouTube, Xbox, PS4, IGN, GameSpot among many others.
